Building trust, one project at a time.
I started my business in 2011, after a downsizing of the company I had worked for, for nearly 10 yrs: the local municipality's DPW team. I built my log cabin in the 90's, then another home for my family, and then in the early 2000's, I enlarged, by adding a second story addition, to my boyhood home. I felt it was meant to be and the timing was right, so I took a chance and started "David Bean's Handywork".
I was small at first, doing handyman projects throughout the area, as a sole proprietor. My customer base grew and requested more from me, so I started to work with a sub-contractor. Now, I officially have two, experienced, hardworking, very valued employees, that have worked with me as a team; nearly three years. Together we have been keeping our repeat customers: repaired, upgraded, remodeled and HAPPY.
In 2017 I built my pole barn (shop) on Vinegar Hill Rd., with the help of experienced: friends, colleagues, and family. You know who you are and I thank you for making my dream come true. I am proud of it and the work we accomplish out of it. I only wish I started my company sooner in life, which is too short!
I am honest. I have fair prices. I obtain permits. I work well with architects, codes enforcers, inspectors and will work well with you too! I am always willing to look @ your project, give advice and if we can't get to you immediately, I will work with you on a timeframe. We move right along and work as weather permits: inside jobs, outside jobs, according to the season and the weather.
We handle emergency projects too; broken hot water heaters can't wait. I may have to leave your project for a couple hours and help another valued customer with an emergency. It's the way we operate. We take pride in our work. We do it right the first time. If I run into you in the hardware store, I'll ask you how you're enjoying our work, rather than scramble to another isle and avoid you. I look forward to hearing from you.
